Crest-Voland
The origin of the village’s name is unknown; It is thought that "Crest" refers to a ridge or a hill overlooking the valley, and that "Voland" was the name of a landowner. The village is the "Balcony overlooking the Val d'Arly".
Cohennoz
The name Cohennoz is just as mysterious; it was probably the name of a landowner........
Today, Cohennoz is dependent on tourism and shares its ski runs and some of its
services with Crest-Voland.
